Just a reminder to save the date for the October 4th 2025 Oktoberfest at the Mill. Planning has begun.

This spring the Dundee Mill Park has partnered with Bemis Upland Springs Floral, a local, family-owned wholesale greenhouse to offer vouchers in increments of $25 be used in their greenhouse. A portion of each voucher sold goes to the Mill Park. Get a voucher from one of our Directors listed on the “About” page. Get planting, support a local business AND help out the Mill. To learn more, visit the “Spring Fundraiser” on the “Events” Page.
The Dundee Mill and Park is nestled away in the southeast corner of Fond du Lac County, in “Downtown Dundee”, on the corners of Hwy 67 and CTR F. We have in our midst a pass piece of history dating back to the 1850’s. This 147 year old mill was originally the saw mill when the need for lumber was at its peak. After the demand for lumber diminished the harnessed river was used to power a flour mill. With the wheat blight the mill was converted to a grainary, grinding for animal feed. The mill was not only a place of business but it had evolved into the social meeting place of the area. It was "the place to go".

Currently the mill produces electricity. Yes, it is a working mill. You can learn how water power, a renewable natural resource, turns the turbine, and creates electricity. The stream of water that leads from the dam to the mill, called the head race, which carries the water that turns the mill turbine. A gate controls the amount of water, from the head race entering the mill. You will note the differing water levels between the head race and the tail race, which exits the mill. The inside of the Mill is somewhat of a museum. Old artifacts hang from the beams and adorn the walls. An old “pot belly stove” provides warmth for the building. We even demonstrate the working of the old grain mill. Take a photo-tour of the Mill.

The park is situated on five picturesque acres which includes a branch of the Milwaukee River, nature trails which end at the dam, head and tail raceways, two fish hatchery ponds and plants reminiscent of the 1850’s era. The ponds are available for fishing only by children under 16 and those with disabilities. All ages are welcome to fish in the head race. The upper pond is sponsored and maintained by the Long Lake Fishing Club and the lower pond was provided by the Northern Kettle Moraine Crooked Trails Snowmobile Club and is being maintained by the Partners of the Mill and Park.
